Specimen samples
If you have been asked to provide a specimen sample (which comes with a pathology form and bag), please can we ask that you provide a fresh sample and delivery it to the surgery before 11.30am. This only applies for urine/ stool or swab samples*. We only have one daily collection that takes samples to the hospital for analysis.
If you provide a sample after this time, it may degrade and will not be sent off until the following day.
Where you are not able to provide an morning fresh sample, we ask that you keep sample refrigerated until it can be delivered to surgery in the morning.
If you have been asked to provide a urine sample for suspected infection, you can collect a urine pot from reception.
*Semen samples need to go straight to the hospital by appointment (and not to the surgery)
