About Oakleigh Road Health Centre

Oakleigh Road Health Centre was established well over 40 years ago, initially by the late Dr B Howells and Dr Maxwell. Over the years we have been lucky to have had many excellent doctors join the team who have since moved on and retired. These include Dr Kim Lumley, Dr Jane Howells and Dr Dan Free.

Each of these parting Doctors have instilled the key values of patient focused, community-centred General Practice we aim for today.

We have grown to a team of 4 partners, 4 associate salaried GPs, many learners, our pharmacist and our 2 practice nurses as well as our invaluable back-office admin and reception team.

We continue to be a teaching practice for medical students, foundation trainees and GPs of tomorrow and we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing educational space for learners and patients.

The practice is also an active participant of our primary care network, a group of 12 local practices who work together to provide additional services such as physiotherapy, phlebotomy (taking blood samples), mental health support, pharmacist reviews and evening and weekend appointments for GPs and nurses.
