How to arrange tests

If you have been asked to arrange an investigation, the following will guide you about your next steps

Blood Test: Local Surgery (Adults 18+)

Blood test paper form required

Please collect your form from Oakleigh Road Clinic then take this with you to your appointment. It cannot be reprinted at another practice site

Blood Test: Hospital (all ages)

No need to collect blood test form

If you are planning on having your test done at the hospital, choose one the of the options below to secure your blood test appointment

(Your blood test form will be printed at the hospital site when you attend for your appointment)

Adults 16+

Children 10 to 15 years

For children under 10 years 

An appointment must be booked at the hospital via telephone

X-Ray (walk in)

X-Ray (walk in)

X-ray investigations are walk in appointments (no need for appointment).

Walk-in x-ray services available at Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital and Royal Free Hospital.

The services will run Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays).

Booked appointments will remain available at some sites in the evenings and at weekends. Patients can call: 0203 758 2452 or 0203 758 2562 Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays). This information is also on the xray form. 

Other scans and investigations

All other scan and investigation (eg USS/ CT scan/ ECG/ Echocardiogram) are by appointment only will be sent out via post to your registered home address.

Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you. Results are usually available one week after your tests.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • phone on 020 8361 3638 or visit us and we will tell you what the results are
